The Best Of Lance Von Erich: The Long Lost Son Of Waldo
This program looks at one of the forgotten and biggest busts in pro wrestling. When the popular Von Erich's faced family setbacks with the death of David in 1984, and the near-death of Mike in late 1985, promoter Fritz Von Erich was faced with a dilemma. The Von Erichs were in-demand all over the country and especially in their own Dallas promotion, and couldn't be everywhere at once. Fritz concocted a story that his nephew Lance Von Erich came from Europe and wrestled as "Ricky Vaughn" (his real name) until he was good enough to carry the Von Erich monicker. Many people knew that he was not related, and after Vaughn he left the promotion, Fritz publicly buried him on television and came clean. His career never recovered.
